MB Development ("we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use, store and protect it, and the rights you have in relation to it. This policy is intended to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") and applies to visitors of this website and to clients who engage us for content creation, social media management, web design, API and software development, or mobile application development.

1. Who we are

MB Development is a digital infrastructure studio based in Pretoria North, Gauteng, South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, MB Development is the "responsible party" for personal information collected through this website and through our client engagements.

2. Information we collect

  • Client and billing information — billing address, VAT or company registration details, and payment or invoicing records (we do not store full card numbers; payments are processed by third-party payment providers).
  • Project information — content, assets, credentials or account access you provide so that we can deliver websites, mobile applications, software, API integrations, social media management or content creation services.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and referring pages, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use this website.

3. Why we collect and how we use it

We process personal information for purposes including to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide quotes for our services;
  • deliver, maintain and support websites, mobile applications, software, API integrations, social media management and content creation services;
  • issue invoices, process payments, and manage our accounting records;
  • communicate with you about your project, including updates and support;
  • improve this website and our services, including through analytics; and
  • comply with our legal, regulatory and tax obligations.

We process personal information on the basis that it is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into one, to comply with a legal obligation, for our legitimate business interests (such as improving our services), or with your consent where required.

4. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its performance. Cookies are small files stored on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though parts of the site may not function as intended if you do so.

5. Third-party service providers

We may share personal information with trusted third-party providers who help us operate our business and deliver our services, including hosting providers, domain registrars, email and communication tools, payment processors, analytics providers, and social media platforms used for social media management. Where a project involves third-party APIs or integrations, information may also be shared with those providers to the extent necessary to deliver the agreed functionality. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services on our behalf and are required to protect it in line with applicable law. Some providers may process information on servers located outside South Africa; where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to a law, binding corporate rules or an agreement that provides an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including to deliver ongoing services, maintain business records, and comply with legal, accounting or tax requirements. Where information is no longer needed for these purposes, we securely delete or anonymise it.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure, appropriate to the nature of the information involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

8. Your rights
